Another pic of the two 'TANGI' Land Rovers. These vehicles are fully armoured and can withstand attack by firearms, grenades and incendiary bombs. Notice the 'skirt' protection to make it difficult to throw a device underneath. One problem with these is that the ventilation is virtually non existent so on hot summer days the crew get baked. It is quite common to see them being driven with the doors held open!

In practice while on patrol the crew members in the back often prop the doors open with their feet so they can see better, breathe more easily and get out fast. In the background is Londonderry City and the river Foyle, the hills in the distance are in County Donegal in the Irish Republic.
